Derle Farms is one of the largest wholesale distributors of quality dairy products in the New York metropolitan area. We are a true family-owned and family-run company. Unburdened by bureaucracy, we can respond quickly to your ever-chaning needs, providing the personal attention our many satisfied customers have come to expect.

In June of 2003, we acquired the Bronx-based Hygrade Milk Company. This acquisition has added significantly to our volume and customer base. This allowed us to upgrade and consolidate our distribution facilities, making it possible for us to attain even higher levels of product freshness and quality service. In addition, we have recently enhanced our product lines. We now serve many more supermarkets, and provide a much broader variety of ethnic foods to better serve the diverse multi-cultural popoulation of our tri-state region. Products for the Latino market along wiht products for the Indian and Russian communities are now readily available from Derle Farms.

A Family Tradition of Superior Value & Service

With a milkman father and an uncle who owned one of the largest dairies in New York, Nat Abramson grew up immersed in the dairy industry. After serving in the Korean War, he started Derle Farms with a single delivery route, then purchased a pair of milk trucks and set about building a company that would grow into one of New York’s largest dairy distributors. Nat’s son Louis and son-in-law Gerald Shaber have helped expand the company to its current position as the leader in the marketplace. Now, Nat’s grandson, Kevin Abramson, has joined the family team. Kevin holds a degree from the University of Indiana in computer science and is applying his knowledge creatively to further streamline and update our technical capabilities. Over the years, the Abramson family has inspired a great deal of long-term employee loyalty. Indeed, many on our staff have been with the company since the very early days. This means that with Derle Farms, you deal with people who know the business inside and out—people you can count on to meet your needs well into the future.

In addition to standard dairy products like milk, butter, and cheese, Derle Farms delivers eggs, orange juice, yogurts, and in-demand specialty items to a diverse range of retail outlets in the New York region including supermarkets, convenience stores, bodegas, delis, restaurants, bagel shops, diners, and caterers. We also service schools, hotels, manufacturers, adult centers, retirement homes, and day care centers. The diversity of our staff reflects the wide range of cultures that make up our clientele in this dynamic region.
